My Bio
I have been fascinated with eye-catching and breath-taking photos of the natural world for as long as I can remember. I don't know why it took me so long to pick up my first DSLR camera, but when I did, it all just clicked for me (pun intended). Join me as I share my various experiences in and around the Southern African landscape and wilderness with you...

All my photos portray truly wild animals. No Game Park or Zoo images to be found here.

Current Residence: South Africa
Favourite photographer: Nick Brandt, Marsel van Oosten, Vincent Munier, Arthur Morris, Beverly Joubert

Tools of the Trade
Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses
Other Interests
Photography, making music, Theology, safari, camping and outdoors
Every year I post a reflection (memoir?) of my photographic journey on my blog. A "best of" the year, of sorts. This year is no different. I'd love your feedback - and I appreciate your time! Link here: http://blog.morkelerasmus.com/2016/01/Morkel-20...

Hey everyone! Every year I take stock of my photographic journey and this year I took a bit of a different approach. Early in 2014 I resolved to use my wide angle lens more often when I photograph wildlife. No drones, no remote control buggies, no fancy selfie-sticks, just good old cam-to-the-eye photography with a wider perspective. I'd love to know what you think - check it out: 10 out of 100 - my reflection on 2014 Thanks a million for following along on my journey!
